We're looking for an Account Director to lead senior client relationships and play a pivotal role in shaping standout, creative earned and influencer work within our PR & Partnerships team. This is a strategic, handsāon role for someone who thrives on ideas, understands how creativity travels through media and culture, and knows how to turn that into real business impact. You'll sit at the intersection of clients, creativity and culture, acting as a strategic partner to brands and a creative leader within the agency. You'll inspire teams, push ideas further, and ensure Iris delivers work that earns attention, conversation and fame.
The Role:
- Client Leadership
- Be the senior, trusted voice for clients, owning relationships at a strategic level and acting as a confident creative counsellor.
- Lead key areas of the client business, shaping the earned and influencer vision and ensuring work ladders up to wider brand and business objectives.
- Challenge briefs where needed and push clients towards braver, more impactful creative thinking.
- Creative Leadership
- Champion big, bold, earned-first ideas, proactively bringing culturally relevant opportunities to clients.
- Work closely with Iris creative, social and strategy teams to develop ideas that are designed to travel through media, talent and culture.
- Play a key role in creative development, from early idea generation through to execution and amplification.
- Ensure creative work is distinctive, onābrand and worthy of attention - never just 'doing PR'.
- Media relations
- Create media strategies, lead media sellāins, taking responsibility for results.
- Demonstrate a creative approach to media relations, coming up with new stories/angles.
- Talent managers
- Lead relationships with talent and influencer agents, ensuring that weāre at the forefront of pairing talent with our brands.
- Commercial & Account Ownership
- Take ownership of the commercial health of your accounts, including budgets, forecasting, resourcing and profitability.
- Identify opportunities for organic growth, expanded scopes and creative partnerships.
- Contribute to new business, helping shape compelling, creatively ambitious and commercially sound pitches.
- Team Leadership
- Lead, inspire and develop Account Managers and Executives, fostering a culture of creativity, confidence and high performance.
- Set clear expectations, support prioritisation and encourage teams to think bigger and more creatively.
- Act as a role model for Iris values and creative ambition.
- Writing, Storytelling & Evaluation
- Oversee and elevate all written outputs, from creative briefs and press materials to pitch decks and strategic narratives.
- Ensure reporting tells a clear, compelling story: not just what we did, but why it mattered.
- Use insight and results to fuel smarter, braver creative thinking.
- Creative
- Take responsibility for developing regular, proactive creative ideas for retained and project-based accounts.
