We are looking for a part-time Income Advisorto manage income collection for a patch of mixed tenure households with the aim of supporting customers to sustain their tenancies.
What you\’ll be doing

Effectively manage rent, service charge and debt collection on a mixed tenure patch including rented homes, homeowners, garage licences and commercial properties.

Follow the principles of the pre action protocol for rent arrears recovery focusing on early contact with customers if they fall behind with their rent or service charges.

Refer or signpost customers to internal and external services to help maximise benefit entitlement, employment support, debt management and other tenancy support.

Assist customers to access DHP, homeless prevention loans and our internal hardship fund.

Where you are unable to resolve rent arrears with a customer, take appropriate recovery action, including issuing notices, commencing possession proceedings and representing CHP at court.
What we are looking for

Good general standard of education demonstrating a good standard of literacy and numeracy.

Relevant experience, including experience of rent arrears debt recovery processes.

Excellent organisational skills with the ability to use your initiative and take a flexible approach in managing conflicting priorities under pressure.

Excellent interpersonal and written communication skills with the ability to communicate clearly, precisely and sensitively.

A full driving licence and access to a vehicle for work purposes.
Please note, we are flexible on how these 30 hours are spread, however would need coverage on a Monday. This role will also need to be able to cover the SME line on a rota basis, covering either 9am-1pm or 1pm-5pm a couple of times a week)

25 days annual leave pro rata per annum, plus bank holidays and 3 extra days between Christmas and New Year.

30 hours per week – employees may be able to work flexibly by agreement with their line manager, taking account of business need. We operate a hybrid working policy at CHP.
