Rates of Pay are £12.82 per hour, waking nights £13.32 per hour (11pm-7am) mileage rate, if using own vehicle, paid at 45p per mile.
About the Role:
As a Support Worker in our supported living service, you’ll be working closely with individuals to provide person-centred care, empowering them to build daily living skills, maintain routines, and take part in meaningful activities within the community. You’ll support people with:
- Attending appointments and social activities
- Daily living tasks such as cooking, shopping, and cleaning
- Managing their mental health and well-being
- Developing confidence, independence, and life skills
This role includes lone working, shift work (including some evenings and weekends), and regular travel with clients – so a full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle is essential. Hours can vary including 12-hour shifts, evening shifts, waking nights, and sleep-in shifts which will include some weekends.
What We’re Looking For:
To work alongside an established team in a house with adults who have learning disabilities. Duties include supporting the service users with all aspects of daily living, domestic duties, personal care, medication administration, keeping daily recordings, etc. A need for flexible working within the team to support service users with a range of needs, including accompanying them whilst out in the community to all social activities and to medical appointments, all domestic duties, cleaning, washing, ironing, cooking, and general housekeeping.
The ability to work as part of a small staff team with 3-4 others is required. You will work alongside a Senior Support Worker who will delegate daily duties for that team. Experience working within the care sector is desirable, as is any experience working with clients with learning disabilities and mental health an advantage. Full driving licence and the use of a car would be an advantage, but the ability to drive the works car is essential to be able to transport clients to activities and appointments. If a non-driver, you will be accessing the community with the clients by bus, taxis, or on foot.
37+ hours per week, on a fixed 4-week rota, working a combination of 12-hour shifts, day and evening shifts, waking nights, and sleep-in shifts, which will include some weekends.
