We are seeking a Junior Cloud Engineer comfortable working in startups to join our team at IRIS. This role will support the development, deployment, and operation of cloud infrastructure and services, contributing to reliable, secure, and scalable systems. You will be implementing infrastructure changes, automation, and operational tasks, while building foundational knowledge in cloud platforms and DevOps practices.
Key aspects of the role will be to:
- Assist in provisioning and managing cloud resources (compute, storage, networking)
- Support the setup and maintenance of development and production environments
- Apply infrastructure changes using established patterns and tooling
- Contribute to Infrastructure as Code (IaC) using Terraform
- Support application and infrastructure deployments
- Work with CI/CD pipelines to ensure smooth and consistent releases
- Monitor systems using dashboards and alerts
- Support incident response and help troubleshoot issues
Requirements:
- Basic understanding of cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP)
- Familiarity with Linux systems and networking basics
- Familiarity with Docker
- Exposure to Infrastructure as Code concepts
- Basic scripting (e.g. Bash, Python)
- Familiarity with the TypeScript/JavaScript ecosystem
- Familiarity with version control (Git)
- Willingness to learn new technologies and languages
Nice to have:
- Exposure to Terraform
- Exposure to Cloud Run / ECS / other serverless container environments
