Overview:

Our client is a well-established organisation delivering major infrastructure and technology change across the UK. As part of continued investment into their internal IT function, they are seeking an experienced IT Project Manager to lead a range of business change, technology, digital adoption, and security-focused initiatives across the organisation.

The successful candidate will play a key role in leading the planning, delivery, and governance of projects, ensuring successful outcomes across scope, budget, quality, stakeholder engagement, and business adoption.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead the end-to-end planning and delivery of IT, security, and business change projects, ensuring successful delivery against agreed timelines, budgets and quality standards.
  • Support the rollout and acceleration of a business-wide security programme, including projects aligned to Zero Trust security frameworks and modern cyber security best practices.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans covering timelines, resources, budgets and dependencies.
  • Identify and manage project risks, issues and mitigation plans, particularly across complex technology and security initiatives.
  • Communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels to ensure alignment on project progress, priorities and delivery expectations.
  • Foster a collaborative working culture across project teams, IT, security, operational and business stakeholders.
  • Operate with a high level of autonomy while making informed decisions that positively influence project outcomes.
  • Navigate complex delivery challenges with strong problem-solving skills and adaptability.
  • Ensure compliance with internal governance, industry standards and relevant regulatory requirements.
  • Support the adoption of new technologies, security controls and modern ways of working across the organisation.
  • Mentor and support junior team members to strengthen capability across the wider project delivery function.

Essential Skills and Experience:

  • Strong Project Management experience delivering IT and business change projects.
  • Previous experience supporting or delivering cyber security, infrastructure security, or Zero Trust-related initiatives.
  • Strong understanding of modern IT environments, systems, applications and security principles.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate, guide and influence cross-functional teams.
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills, with experience engaging both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience within construction, engineering, logistics, utilities, infrastructure or related industries.
  • Strong communication, planning and organisational skills.
  • Proactive, delivery-focused approach with strong work ethic and a positive, solutions-led mindset.

Desirable:

  • Exposure to cyber security frameworks, identity and access management, or enterprise security transformation programmes.
  • Relevant Project Management certifications such as PRINCE2, Agile, PMP or similar.
  • Experience delivering similar projects in the construction or engineering sectors.
