Job Title: Senior Technical Architect – Financial Services

Location: Canary Wharf, London (Hybrid, two days per week in office)

Role Type: Permanent

Salary: £95,000 to £120,000 plus benefits and annual bonus

Overview:

Our client is a major Financial Services organisation with a strong focus on modernising its technology landscape and delivering secure, scalable digital services across the business. They are looking to appoint a Senior Technical Architect to provide architectural leadership across several key platforms and support ongoing transformation initiatives within the Technology Department.

This role will be responsible for shaping technical designs, defining architecture standards, and working closely with engineering, product, and business teams to deliver high-quality solutions that meet regulatory, security, and operational expectations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the design and documentation of technical architectures across multiple applications and platforms
• Define and maintain architecture standards, principles, and governance processes
• Collaborate with Engineering, Product, and Security teams to translate business requirements into robust technical solutions
• Ensure designs adhere to regulatory, data protection, and cyber security obligations
• Provide technical guidance across delivery teams and oversee solution implementation
• Support long-term architectural planning, cloud migration strategies, and technology roadmap development

Essential Skills and Experience:

• 8 years or more of experience in architecture or senior engineering roles within Financial Services or similarly regulated environments
• Strong knowledge of cloud technologies, ideally Azure, and modern architecture patterns
• Experience with APIs, integration platforms, microservices, and enterprise-level applications
• Good understanding of security, risk, and compliance within regulated industries
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence senior leadership
• Proven ability to deliver complex technical solutions within multi-disciplinary project teams
