Job Duties of the Tooling Engineer:

  • Strip, clean, service, and reassemble complex tools.
  • Inspect newly set machines configurations and approve handover to production.
  • Identify tooling issues and collaborate with machinists and external vendors to develop cost-effective repair solutions.
  • Communicate effectively with planning, production, and other departments to resolve issues within agreed timeframes.
  • Take a hands-on approach to troubleshooting and resolving complex tooling problems.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision, as well as part of a cross-functional team.

Skills and Experience required for the Tooling Engineer:

  • Previous experience in Mechanical Engineering or similar discipline.
  • Strong knowledge of materials and processes.
  • Experience using lathes, milling machines, and other toolmaking/repair equipment.
  • CAD/CAM experience (advantageous).
  • Competent using a wide range of tools and handling equipment.
  • High attention to detail with a strong focus on safety.
  • Computer literate (MS Office: Word, Excel, etc.).

Additional Information for the Tooling Engineer:

  • Monday to Friday.
  • 08.30 - 17.00.
  • Overtime available.
  • Up to £42,000 Per Annum (DOE).
