iRecruit4 are currently recruiting HGV Class 1 Drivers for one of our clients, a well-established transport and logistics company based in Swindon.
Have you previously worked at B&Q, Amazon, Howard Tenens or similar sites? Days, nights, full-time and part-time opportunities available.
Hours, Pay & Benefits for HGV Class 1 Drivers:
- Up to £173 per shift
- Minimum 8 hours paid per shift
- Typical shifts are 9-10 hours
- Day and night shifts available
- Ongoing work
- Newly passed HGV Class 1 drivers welcome
- Immediate assessments available
- Weekend availability particularly in demand
- Drivers who provide their weekly availability will be offered work wherever possible
Key duties for HGV Class 1 Drivers include:
- Completing vehicle safety checks and following planned routes
- Deliveries and collections, including reversing onto loading bays
- Trailer swaps, drops and collection of pre-loaded trailers
- Opening and closing curtains and securing loads
- Occasional side-loading with curtain-sided trailers
- Completing delivery paperwork
- Using smartphone-based driver apps
- Following company procedures, health and safety requirements and drivers hours regulations
- No regular handball is involved
- General haulage, trailer work and store deliveries
Requirements for HGV Class 1 Drivers:
- Valid HGV Class 1 licence
- Newly passed drivers welcome
- Valid CPC
- Valid Digital Tachograph Card
- Good knowledge of UK roads
- Reliable and punctual
- Professional attitude
- Good communication skills
- Comfortable using smartphone apps
- Weekend availability highly desirable
- Good understanding of driver hours and road safety
