Job Purpose
As a Vice President or Director in Investments you will be primarily responsible for originating and executing infrastructure investments for InfraRed’s Value-add funds in sectors such as digital, energy transition and transport and logistics. As well as the execution of transactions, a significant part of the role will be to input into the business development strategy for the target sectors and take an active role in its implementation, with the objective of delivering opportunities in the rapidly changing infrastructure markets that will make attractive risk adjusted returns for InfraRed’s funds. The scope of your role will also include the management of existing value-add investments, driving performance and having responsibility for outcomes, in particular via Board positions on portfolio companies.
Key Job Responsibilities
- Develop and nurture InfraRed networks and relationships supportive of implementation of the strategy for InfraRed.
- Originate and lead the structuring and completion of transactions in accordance with InfraRed’s policies and processes.
- Negotiation of investment-related documentation such as sale and purchase agreements, shareholder agreements and financing documents.
- Monitor investments which includes representing InfraRed on Boards of investee companies as required.
- Advance the sector knowledge of other team members through proactive collaboration and enhance the effectiveness and efficiency of existing transaction processes.
- Assist with fundraising and reporting to investors as required.
- Mentor, develop and line manage junior team members.
- Participate in reporting processes.
- Represent InfraRed and the applicable fund in meetings with vendors, acquisition partners, co-shareholders, financiers and contractors on transactions.
- Take the lead in target investment appraisal including appointing and closely managing due diligence advisers and internal deal teams, reviewing and challenging outputs from underlying project financial models and preparing and presenting investment paper.
- In respect of the certain Investment Focus sectors, actively contribute to the business development strategy and its implementation.
Skills and Qualifications
- Significant prior experience working in infrastructure with a track record of executing M&A transactions.
- Relevant transactional experience in making investments in the digital sector strongly preferred.
- Demonstrable results orientated track record of sourcing and executing successful transactions and value driven initiatives, including operating businesses with management teams.
- Driven, focused and motivated with the ability to enable and actualise ideas within a lean, fast paced and high growth non-hierarchical culture.
- Confident presenter, comfortable in dealing with demanding set of audience including senior management teams.
- Demonstrate a highly organised, systematic and forward-looking approach to undertaking key priorities.
- Strong commercial acumen through an understanding of multiple business drivers from the perspective of a broad range of stakeholders.
- Demonstrate evidence of strategic thinking at a high level and long timeframe analysis.
- Fluent in English and another European language (preferably Spanish, German, Swedish, Norwegian, Dutch or French) is highly beneficial.
- Excellent communicator able to inspire, influence and persuade others, and demonstrate effective teamwork across divisional and geographic boundaries.
