Job Summary
We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented Installation & Commissioning Engineer to assemble, install, test, and commission containment isolators. This role offers autonomy, technical variety, and opportunities to work closely with customers and cross-functional teams.
Key Responsibilities
- Assembly & Installation
- Assemble isolators from detailed engineering drawings
- Prepare and clean components prior to assembly
- Conduct mechanical assembly including flexible parts
- Strip down, pack, and secure units for dispatch
- Ensure safe transportation and delivery to site
- Testing & Commissioning
- Perform Factory Acceptance Tests (FAT) and Site Acceptance Tests (SAT)
- Conduct airflow testing, filter changes, and DOP tests
- Commission isolators and verify system performance
- Complete pre-delivery inspections and related documentation
- Customer Interaction
- Arrange and manage site appointments independently
- Deliver operator training and refreshers
- Generate site visit reports for feedback and product development
- Maintain a professional customer-facing presence
- Documentation & Quality
- Review and update commissioning documentation
- Collaborate with engineering to adapt documentation for project needs
- Follow all Quality and Environmental Management System (QEMS) procedures
- Ensure compliance with ISO9001 and ISO14001 standards
Candidate Profile
- Organised and detail-oriented – methodical, clear-thinking, and able to manage multiple tasks while staying focused
- Team-mindful & proactive – works well independently and in teams, communicates effectively with end users, and takes initiative
- Technically capable – able to interpret engineering drawings and specifications, apply common sense to instructions, and solve practical problems
- Reliable & committed – enthusiastic, tenacious, and willing to go the extra mile to deliver high performance
- Strong communicator – excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Flexible & mobile – willing to travel in the UK and abroad for up to 3 weeks at a time
Desirable Qualifications & Experience
- HNC or equivalent in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering
- Experience with pneumatic systems, PLCs, HMIs, and electrical testing
- Familiarity with ISO9001 and ISO14001 standards
- CPD or short-course training in relevant subjects
