About Us: Gardner Denver Transport provides equipment which efficiently transfers bulk material from road tankers and other vehicles. As global requirements advanced, we started developing into wider applications and we now produce equipment for alternative markets including specialised transport, on-board power systems for operating/powering other equipment, and bespoke electric compressor packages for e-mobility vehicles. Within our Bradford facility we design, machine, assemble and install our entire Bulk Powder and Liquid Compressor range for Road Transport Vehicles. Providing our customers with the whole product life cycle is number one for us and with our mobile service engineers we offer from concept design, manufacture, installation and aftermarket support.
Job Summary: To provide on-site support for Arla Foods, working 37 hours per week a typical week would be Arla Burton Monday, Tuesday and Thursday covering 8 hours per day and Friday 7 hours. Wednesday is a non-cover day in Burton so other work would be sourced.
Responsibilities:
- Inspection and diagnosis of all vehicles and faults in service.
- Fit/Assemble components to all vehicle types.
- Carry out product testing in line with test specification requirements.
- Assistance to Service Engineers or other team members as required.
- Undertake any other duties as may be reasonably required within the scope of the role.
- Work in a clean and tidy manner.
- Ensure Customers are greeted and looked after whilst their work is being undertaken.
- Administration responsibilities with documentation, job sheets and service sheets.
- Accurate processing of parts to ensure inventory remains 100%.
Travel & Work Arrangements/Requirements: Willingness to travel both in UK and Europe, if required.
Key Competencies:
- Time Served apprenticeship or HNC in Engineering or equivalent.
- Equivalent engineering experience or suitable training qualifications will be considered.
- Proven experience of working in a service, engineering or environment.
- Ability to work on own initiative.
- Confident and effective communication with team members and customers.
- Diplomatic and proactive problem solver.
- Team player in a manufacturing environment.
- Basic Electrical training.
- Willingness to work overtime as required and be flexible on start finish times to suit the Customer’s needs (this would typically be early morning starts such as 5am or later starts of 10am).
