Salaried GP Opportunity – 4–6 Sessions Per Week

Irchester Surgery, Northamptonshire

£11,500–£12,500 per session per annum, depending on experience

Irchester Surgery is a friendly, community-focused GP practice based in Irchester, Wellingborough, working in close partnership with Summerlee Medical Centre in Finedon. We are seeking an enthusiastic and motivated Salaried GP to join our team for 4–6 sessions per week. This is an excellent opportunity to work across both practice sites within a well-established and supportive environment where continuity of care, teamwork and high clinical standards are at the heart of everything we do.

About Us

Irchester Surgery has a registered patient population of approximately 4,100 patients and is supported by:

  • 2 experienced GPs
  • 5 members of our nursing team
  • A dedicated and supportive administrative team

We pride ourselves on providing a welcoming and collaborative environment where clinicians are supported to develop their interests and contribute to continually improving patient care.

The Role

The successful candidate will provide comprehensive primary care services including:

  • Face‑to‑face and telephone consultations
  • Management of acute and chronic conditions
  • Reviewing test results, hospital correspondence and referrals
  • Prescribing and medicines management
  • Home visits when required
  • Participation in the duty doctor system
  • Supporting continuity of care for registered patients
  • Working closely with the wider multidisciplinary team

The role also includes participation in:

  • Clinical governance activities
  • Audit and quality improvement work
  • QOF, DES and PCN initiatives
  • Practice meetings and continuing professional development

There will be opportunities to develop leadership or specialist interests in areas such as:

  • Safeguarding
  • Diabetes
  • Elderly care
  • Population health management
  • Quality improvement
  • PCN development

Essential Requirements

  • MBBS or equivalent medical qualification
  • Full GMC Registration with Licence to Practise
  • Completion of GP Training (or equivalent experience)
  • Inclusion on the NHS England Performers List (or eligibility for inclusion)
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Commitment to high-quality, patient‑centred care
