b Overview /b p As a Senior Technical Specialist, you will blend hands-on lab work with technical leadership to advance automated sample management for drug discovery. You’ll shape workflows, optimise automation, and drive improvements across platforms. You’ll mentor peers, collaborate across functions, and contribute to strategic technology direction. This role offers impact through scalable processes and cutting-edge automation in a Cambridge lab setting. /p b Responsibilities /b ul li Design, develop and optimise automated liquid handling and sample management workflows /li li Troubleshoot complex technical, workflow and equipment challenges /li li Translate scientific requirements into robust, scalable automated processes /li li Work with state-of-the-art laboratory automation technologies and platforms /li li Drive continuous improvement to enhance quality, efficiency and throughput /li li Mentor and train colleagues to build technical capability /li li Collaborate with scientists, engineers, IT specialists and external vendors /li li Contribute to future technology and equipment planning and strategic direction /li /ul b Key requirements /b ul li Significant laboratory experience in sample management, automation, drug discovery or related environment /li li Experience developing, optimising and troubleshooting laboratory methods or workflows /li li Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work independently /li li Excellent communication and knowledge-sharing abilities /li li Ability to mentor, coach and support others development /li li Scientific qualification or equivalent industry experience /li li Experience with automation platforms such as Labcyte Echo, HighRes, Beckman, Janus, Tecan Fluent, STP Mosquito, SmartCell or Hamilton Tube Store is advantageous /li /ul ul li collaborative mindset /li li strong communication /li li mentoring and coaching /li li laboratory automation /li li sample management /li li automation platforms (Labcyte Echo, HighRes, Beckman, Janus, Tecan Fluent, STP Mosquito, SmartCell, Hamilton Tube Store) /li /ul
