Expert Ecosystem is a technology platform (SaaS solution) within the Medical Affairs portfolio. It enables life sciences companies to identify, map, and engage healthcare experts globally, supporting insight generation, stakeholder engagement, and data-driven decision-making.
As a Business Development Manager, you will drive growth of the Expert Ecosystem platform across pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients. You will act as a trusted advisor to clients, translating stakeholder engagement and insight-generation needs into tailored technology-enabled solutions.
Responsibilities
- Business Development
- Drive growth of the Expert Ecosystem platform through new business acquisition and expansion within existing client accounts.
- Develop and execute territory and account plans to achieve sales targets and pipeline objectives.
- Identify and qualify opportunities across pharmaceutical and biotechnology organizations.
- Manage the full sales cycle from prospecting and discovery through proposal development, negotiation, and contract execution.
- Build and maintain a robust pipeline through proactive prospecting, networking, referrals, and collaboration with IQVIA commercial teams.
- Support strategic account planning and coordinate opportunities across global and regional client teams.
- Client Engagement & Solution Development
- Position Expert Ecosystem capabilities to prospective and existing clients by demonstrating business value and measurable outcomes.
- Work with delivery teams to develop compelling proposals, business cases, and presentations aligned to client priorities.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders and decision-makers.
- Support successful transition from sales to implementation, staying involved at key points in the Expert Ecosystem license for expansion and renewal opportunities.
- Go-to-Market & Market Development
- Gather market intelligence, competitive insights, and customer feedback to support platform evolution and go-to-market strategy.
- Contribute to sales collateral, case studies, thought leadership content, and client-facing materials.
- Represent Expert Ecosystem at industry conferences, client meetings, and networking events as appropriate.
- Collaborate with marketing and product teams to enhance market positioning and drive demand generation activities.
Requirements
- 4-8+ years of experience in business development, account management, consulting sales, technology sales, or related commercial roles within life sciences.
- Proven success selling SaaS platforms, technology solutions, data solutions, or healthcare services to pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients.
- Experience in increasing product utilization, adoption and defense of renewals.
- Understanding of Medical Affairs and the pharmaceutical development lifecycle.
- Ability to understand client challenges and translate them into tailored technology-enabled solutions.
- Excellent communication, presentation, influencing, and negotiation skills.
- Experience engaging with senior stakeholders across Medical Affairs, Commercial, Market Access, or Clinical Development functions.
- Strong collaboration skills with cross-functional teams.
- Experience with healthcare expert engagement, KOL strategy, stakeholder mapping, healthcare data, or insight-generation solutions is highly desirable.
