The Localisation Desktop Publishing Manager is responsible for leading a team of 25-35 Content Design Specialists who ensure translation projects are delivered according to IQVIA’s standards and design requirements via 1-2 Content Design Team Leads. He/she builds and maintains strong relationships within his/her team, with Project Managers as well as with internal and external stakeholders and clients. He/she ensures that all jobs allocated to his/her team are completed on time and budget and recommends synergies, improvements and experiments as needed. The Localisation Desktop Publishing Manager also shares best practices and findings in his/her team and within Translation Operations. He/she provides the Associate Director with content design effectiveness metrics according to agreed KPIs and frequencies.

Your Responsibilities

  • Ensure that his/her team checks content in various languages so that it does not contain any design error. Specifically, his/her team must track omission, inaccuracy, inconsistency and visibility errors coming from OCR, translation and DTP tasks. It may entail correcting, removing, adding and formatting portions of content to make the source content ready for translation and the translated content meaningful prior to delivery to customers.
  • Work very closely and effectively with Project Managers to distribute and allocate content design jobs according to requirements and available resources.
  • Manage the assessment of client’s expectations or specifications and advise on best practices when appropriate to delight customers.
  • Manage any escalations or issues that may arise regarding content design and work with Project Managers to ensure that the nature and the number of such issues are collected and incorporated in performance metrics and trend analysis.
  • Act as a link between Project Managers and Content Design Specialists as necessary to solve issues quickly and effectively.
  • Be a key contributor to deliver on translation effectiveness commitments to stakeholders and clients.
  • Mentor and help Content Design Specialists as needed and coordinate efforts to onboard and train them as required.
  • Comply with relevant and applicable IQVIA procedures.

Required knowledge, skills and abilities

  • Minimum of 10 years of experience in the Language Solutions industry, with the last 5 years working as a Manager / Associate Director.
  • Bachelor's degree, ideally in a design, linguistics, Translation, Localisation, or business field OR at least 10 years of experience.
  • Excellent communication verbal/written skills in English is a must.
  • Fluency in at least one additional language is a strong asset.
  • Experience in project management is a strong asset, including the ability to meet strict deadlines and manage competing priorities and changing demands.
  • Proven experience working with projects involving large amounts of content is beneficial.
  • Knowledge of software QA, QC, DTP and/or OCR methodologies, tools, and processes is beneficial.
  • Experience using CAT tools or content editing tools is beneficial.
  • Experience working in international environments with demonstrated cultural and emotional intelligence.
  • Excellent problem solving and analytical skills including the collection, management and presentation of data.
  • Ability to follow instructions/guidelines, work independently and on own initiative.
  • Ability to foster personal and professional development of team members as well as contribute to succession planning when needed.
