Global Custom Integrated Research focuses on understanding the behaviours and attitudes of Health Care Professionals and patients to support international pharmaceutical companies. This is across the whole of the product lifecycle. We explore and measure what Health Care Professionals and patients say and do using different behavioural frameworks to deliver actionable insights and clear answers to our clients’ business questions. We typically use IQVIA data to contextualise our research and collaborate with other IQVIA teams to provide our clients with comprehensive solutions to their business issues.
The Associate Principal plays a critical role in delivering high-quality, innovative research and consulting solutions to global and regional pharmaceutical clients, particularly HQ-level stakeholders globally. You will act as a day-to-day project lead and trusted advisor, responsible for the successful delivery of integrated research engagements, while also contributing to business development and growing client relationships.
This role sits at the intersection of delivery excellence, client leadership, and commercial impact, requiring strong collaboration across geographies and IQVIA teams (including Advisory Services).
What You’ll Be Doing
- Act as a primary point of contact for clients on projects, building strong and trusted relationships.
- Bring strategic thinking to client challenges, translating insights into clear, actionable recommendations.
- Drive positive client engagement which results in new and repeat business, often in collaboration with other IQVIA teams.
- Lead the end-to-end delivery of integrated research and consulting projects for key clients.
- Ensure delivery of high-quality outputs, on time and aligned with client expectations.
- Design robust research and analytical approaches, integrating primary market research, secondary intelligence, and IQVIA data assets.
- Develop methodologies including sample design, questionnaires, discussion guides, and analytical frameworks.
- Identify opportunities to apply innovative approaches, technologies, and data solutions.
- Support and actively contribute to business development activities, including identifying new opportunities and client needs.
- Developing high-quality proposals and client presentations.
- Help grow existing accounts by ensuring repeat business and long-term partnerships.
- Contribute to achieving revenue targets at project or account level.
- Lead and coordinate cross-functional project teams, including onshore and offshore resources.
- Coach and mentor junior team members, supporting skill development and career growth.
- Ensure effective collaboration across multiple stakeholders and geographies.
- Support the execution of the Custom Integrated Research strategy and vision.
- Contribute to improving ways of working, tools, and delivery models.
- Collaborate closely with other IQVIA teams to deliver integrated client solutions.
Who You Are
- A university degree holder with 8+ years’ experience in life sciences consulting, healthcare, or market research.
- Strong experience in primary market research methodologies and project delivery.
- Proven ability to lead projects end-to-end, managing multiple stakeholders and priorities.
- Demonstrated client management and influencing skills, with exposure to senior stakeholders.
- Experience contributing to business development, including proposal writing and client discussions.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to translate data into strategic insights.
- Excellent communication and presentation skills.
- Experience working in international and cross-functional environments.
- Fluent in English (additional languages are a plus).
