This role is accountable for end-to-end delivery excellence across one or more large or strategically important studies, ensuring projects are delivered on time, within scope and budget, and in compliance with IQVIA quality, regulatory, and data privacy standards. The Associate Director Project Manager operates with a high degree of autonomy and is expected to own client relationships at the study or program level, proactively manage risk, and contribute to solution development, proposal delivery, and continuous improvement of RWE delivery practices.
Key Responsibilities:

- Lead end-to-end delivery of complex RWE engagements, including observational studies, registries, database analyses, chart reviews, and other non-interventional research (e.g., integrated evidence planning).
- Own and manage project plans, timelines, milestones, resourcing models, and budgets, ensuring high-quality and financially responsible delivery.
- Provide day-to-day project oversight to cross-functional teams including epidemiology, biostatistics, data management, medical writing, regulatory/ethics, and vendors.
- Drive execution across the full project lifecycle, including study startup, operationalization, tool/EDC implementation, and close-out.
- Identify, assess, and manage complex risks and dependencies, developing and implementing mitigation strategies independently.
- Ensure all deliverables meet IQVIA quality standards, SOPs, and applicable regulatory, ethics, and data privacy requirements.
- Maintain inspection-ready documentation and proactively resolve quality or compliance risks.
- Lead internal and client governance meetings, including status reporting, issue escalation, and decision documentation.
- Serve as the primary senior point of contact for clients on assigned projects, building trusted relationships.
- Manage client expectations at both operational and strategic levels, addressing issues proactively.
- Support solution or account leaders with delivery insights for broader client planning.
- Contribute to proposals, scope development, feasibility assessments, and bid defenses.
- Apply knowledge of the IQVIA RWE portfolio to support integrated, client-focused solutions.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives across RWE delivery practices.
- Provide mentoring and informal leadership to Project Managers and Associate Project Managers.
- Model strong project leadership, accountability, and client-centered behaviours.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (Master’s or PhD) preferred in life sciences, public health, epidemiology, biostatistics, or related field.
- Typically 5–8+ years of project management experience in RWE, observational research, late-phase research, or healthcare consulting.
- Demonstrated success managing large or complex RWE engagements with significant client interaction.
- Strong understanding of real-world study designs, data sources, and regulatory/ethics frameworks.
- Experience working in global, matrixed organizations.
Skills & Competencies:
- Advanced project planning, financial management, and delivery oversight.
- Senior-level client and stakeholder management.
- Proactive risk management and complex problem solving.
- Cross-functional leadership and influence.
- Strong quality, compliance, and audit-readiness mindset.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
