Under general supervision, the Proposal Developer I supports the global sales organization by developing and preparing budgets and proposals for assigned customers. This role focuses on learning proposal development best practices, understanding customer requirements, and ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely delivery of proposal documentation.
Essential Functions
- Review Requests for Proposal (RFPs) and identify required inputs for proposal text and budget development.
- Support the preparation of proposal text, budgets, rebids, and related documentation under guidance of senior team members.
- Collaborate closely with the proposal development team to prepare and finalize assigned proposals.
- Assist in revising or developing preliminary agreements, scopes of work, and associated budgets to ensure alignment with customer requirements.
- Support quality control reviews of proposal documents to ensure accuracy, completeness, and compliance with internal processes.
- Participate in strategy and internal alignment calls to understand customer needs and clarify requirements.
- Update and maintain proposal-related information in corporate databases and tracking tools.
- Contribute to the finalization and internal distribution of proposal materials.
- Provide administrative and analytical support to other Proposal Developers as required.
- Participate in departmental initiatives, training activities, and continuous process improvement.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s Degree in Life Sciences, Business Management, or a related field.
- Minimum of 1 year of experience in proposal development, contracts, budgeting, or a related role (or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
- Basic knowledge of the CRO industry or clinical research environment is preferred.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word; basic understanding of costing or budgeting models.
- Ability to read and interpret RFPs, study protocols, and client requirements.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail.
- Good verbal and written communication skills in English.
- Ability to build and maintain effective working relationships with colleagues, managers, and internal stakeholders.
- Willingness to learn proposal development processes, tools, and compliance requirements.
