As an Accountant 2 within IQVIA's EMEA General Accounting Team you will deliver high-impact accounting services across multiple EMEA entities ensuring timely, accurate and fully compliant financial reporting in line with IQVIA Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), US/UK GAAP, SOX requirements and local statutory regulations. This role plays a critical part in the financial close process safeguarding the integrity of both the balance sheet and profit and loss while strengthening a robust control environment within a fast-paced, highly international organization.
Responsibilities:
- Support month-end close processes for multiple legal entities within Europe ensuring deadlines are met.
- Prepare and post journal entries (Opex/Capex) with appropriate supporting documentation.
- Maintain the integrity of general ledger accounts (P&L and Balance Sheet).
- Prepare and maintain balance sheet reconciliations in BlackLine in line with corporate standards investigating and resolving reconciling items.
- Ensure compliance with corporate policies, procedures and internal controls.
- Support preparation of monthly reporting including commentary on key movements.
- Support internal and external audits including preparation of supporting schedules and documentation.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency and strengthen controls.
- Support standardization of accounting processes and documentation.
- Take ownership of learning and mastering ERP systems (e.g. PeopleSoft, SAP, BlackLine) and internal procedures to become a knowledgeable and efficient system user supporting high-quality financial processes.
- Build and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders across multiple regions.
- Collaborate with global finance teams and cross-functional partners.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or related discipline (required).
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a similar accounting role (required).
- Part-qualified accountant (ACCA / CIMA / AAT finalist level preferred).
- Experience working within a large, complex or multinational organization (preferred).
- Strong understanding of double-entry accounting principles and general ledger.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Ability to prioritize and manage multiple deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
- Commitment to high-quality outputs and continuous improvement.
- Proactive self-starter mindset with strong ownership of responsibilities.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision while contributing to team success.
