The Patient-Centered Solutions team (PCS)
The PCS team leads the industry in the science of measuring the patient experience. We combine scientific expertise, strategic insight, and operational excellence to design and execute rigorous patient-centered research that helps biopharmaceutical companies understand how patients experience disease and treatment. Our work supports evidence generation strategies across clinical development, regulatory decision-making, market access, and commercialization.
Within PCS, our Clinical Project Management team is at the forefront of delivering in-trial interview (ITI) solutions and patient experience data (PED) studies embedded within global clinical development programs. We partner closely with sponsors, scientific teams, and operational stakeholders to ensure patient perspectives are systematically captured and translated into meaningful evidence that informs drug development and healthcare decision-making.

Responsibilities
The Clinical Project Management Director provides operational, strategic, and people leadership across a portfolio of patient experience studies, in-trial interview programs, and key customer accounts within Patient-Centered Solutions (PCS). The role is accountable for successful study execution, financial performance, customer satisfaction, talent development, and organizational growth. The Director serves as a senior strategic partner to clients, leads multidisciplinary global project teams, and directly manages Clinical Project Managers and/or other delivery leaders. This role combines delivery excellence, customer relationship leadership, financial stewardship, and people management to ensure the successful execution of complex global programs while building a high-performing and engaged team capable of supporting the continued growth of the PCS business.
You will:
- Direct the delivery of complex patient experience studies, in-trial interview programs, and related evidence-generation initiatives.
- Lead strategic planning and operational execution across large studies, programs, portfolios, and customer accounts.
- Serve as the executive operational sponsor and senior relationship lead for assigned client accounts.
- Build and maintain trusted relationships with sponsor stakeholders and key client decision-makers.
- Lead senior-level customer discussions regarding delivery strategy, risks, performance, and growth opportunities.
- Oversee development and execution of integrated study and portfolio management plans.
- Monitor project performance, financial health, budgets, timelines, resource allocation, and delivery quality.
- Drive operational consistency, quality, and best practices across projects, programs, and accounts.
- Proactively identify, manage, and resolve strategic risks, issues, and client escalations.
- Identify opportunities for process improvement, innovation, and operational efficiency.
- Support account growth through scope expansion, change orders, and identification of follow-on opportunities.
- Contribute to proposals, pricing strategy, RFP responses, and bid defence presentations.
- Lead, coach, and develop Clinical Project Managers and other assigned delivery staff.
- Conduct performance reviews, provide ongoing feedback, and address performance concerns when needed.
- Develop individual development plans and support career progression and succession planning for team members.
- Ensure appropriate training, mentoring, and capability development across the project management organization.
- Recruit, develop, and retain high-performing talent to support business growth and delivery excellence.
- Partner with leadership on workforce planning, resource forecasting, and organizational capability needs.
- Ensure compliance with applicable regulations, GCP, SOPs, quality standards, and risk management processes.
- Champion cross-functional initiatives and contribute to the continued growth and maturation of the PCS delivery organization.
Essential experience, skills and education required
- Advanced degree in life sciences, public health, psychology, epidemiology, health economics, healthcare research, or a related discipline preferred.
- Significant experience in clinical research, project leadership, patient-centered research, clinical operations, or related healthcare disciplines.
- Extensive experience managing complex global studies, programs, or client portfolios.
- Strong understanding of clinical trial delivery, including applicable regulatory requirements and Good Clinical Practice (GCP).
- Knowledge of patient experience data, patient-centered research methodologies, and/or in-trial interview studies is ideal.
- Experience supporting business development activities including proposals, pricing discussions, and bid defenses.
- Demonstrated ability to lead multidisciplinary and international teams.
- Strong financial acumen and experience managing project profitability and contractual obligations.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including presentations to executive and client audiences.
- Strong analytical, strategic thinking, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills and the ability to build effective relationships with clients, colleagues, and senior stakeholders.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities and competing demands.
