Under general direction, formulate and define systems scope and objectives based on both user needs and a good understanding of applicable business systems and requirements.
Analyse business and user needs to facilitate documenting requirements. Own and continuously refine the product backlog. Oversee business systems projects from inception through implementation and support - including development, validation testing and user acceptance testing. Query and interpret complex lab data using SQL to inform decisions. Foster cross-functional collaboration to align technology with business goals in clinical trial settings. Guide and advise less-experienced Business Systems Analysts. Competent to work at the highest technical level of most phases of systems analysis while considering the business implications of the application of technology to the current and future business environment.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science or Life Sciences.
- 10–15 years of experience in IT as a Business Analyst, including 6 years in a Central Lab or Clinical Trials environment preferred.
- Deep understanding of business applications and client requirements in a regulated setting.
- Demonstrated experience producing high-quality requirements artifacts (BRDs, functional specs, user stories, acceptance criteria, process flows, data mappings) and partnering across Business/IT.
- Working knowledge of regulated expectations for computerized systems used in clinical research.
- Strong SQL skills for querying data in complex systems.
- Experience with PowerBI.
- Exceptional communication, documentation, and coordination skills across technical and non-technical teams.
