Overseeing Balance Sheet (B/S) and Profit and Loss (P/L) of IQVIA Ltd (GB80) SAP side, largest Legal Entity outside United States, a GBP 1BN B/S and P/L. Reporting into the EMEA Controller, the role has many cross functional dotted lines to Corp Treasury, Regional Tax Function, UK Statutory Accounting Function and Global Financial Shared Services. The ideal candidate would be able to self-manage while demonstrating expertise in working with global teams with different backgrounds and cultures. He/she will mainly initiate and/or support efforts to drive controllership, improve processes, support in cash repatriation, and perform operational accounting. The role will have ad-hoc projects such as leading automation initiatives and piloting new technologies while also overseeing integrations and acquisitions & dispositions from an accounting standpoint.
Responsibilities
- Responsible for overseeing IQVIA Limited (GB80) Balance Sheet and Profit and Loss Statement (SAP side) with assets and revenues over GBP 1BN and with over 200 General Ledger (GL) accounts on the B/S and P/L individually.
- Ensure robust controls including journal entry preparation/review, account reconciliations, flux analysis and follow ups to address corporate requirements.
- Responsible for acquisition integration within GB80 and associated accounting requirements.
- Ensures appropriate revenue recognition within GB80 for between 6k and 8k monthly deliverables across EMEA.
- Responsible for the monthly accounting of UK Payroll and employee benefits for 5 Legal Entities (LE) and 1,800 employees while complying with yearly accounting for UK Tax Charges.
- Partnerships with Corporate Treasury and Local offices across 60 countries to drive quarterly cash repatriation results for EMEA.
- Provide leadership and perform various activities for the annual external audit and work with UK Statutory Accounting Function on closing the audit in time.
- Execute the mandatory annual tax review of GB80 B/S & P/L accounts for the Regional Tax Function.
- Be a single point of contact for the various Profit Centres within GB80, directing processes and supporting operation accounting work.
- Support EMEA Controller in activities ensuring internal controls compliance, performance of SOX controls and providing guidance on US GAAP, UK GAAP and IQVIA policies.
- Drive Operation Excellence agenda, leading projects to drive efficiencies and automations across EMEA.
- Support EMEA controller with agenda to improve collaboration and timely resolution of issues with Global Financial Shared Services.
Education, Experience & Skills
- Qualified Chartered Accountant (ACA, CIMA, ACCA or equivalent) with minimum 10 years of progressively responsible experience in a finance function.
- Ability to handle confidential information with ease and maintain professional behaviour.
- Extensive knowledge of both US (US GAAP) and International accounting standards (IFRS with UK GAAP), internal controls best practice and SOX compliance.
- Extensive background in Controllership while having an understanding of Financial Reporting and Analysis (FP&A).
- Knowledge of financial systems, including ERP applications and reporting suites such as SAP and Hyperion.
- Proven track record of results working with senior management in a consultative business approach.
- Experience in working in a matrix organisation.
- Sense of curiosity and ability to identify process improvements.
- Ability to influence outcomes and quickly learn new technologies.
- Comfortable with ambiguity and can make quality decisions in a dynamic, fast-paced environment.
- Excellent communication and analytical skills and proven ability to work with global finance teams.
- Ability to communicate with senior level management team and local finance executives.
