Overview
IQUW is a speciality (re)insurer at Lloyd’s (Syndicate 1856) underwriting a diverse range of Property, Commercial and Speciality (re)insurance products from Cargo and Marine to Political Violence, Terror and War. We combine data, intelligent automation and human expertise to make smart decisions, fast.
The role involves supporting, improving and delivering high quality BI reporting solutions as part of the Central BI Team. You will actively participate within the team to help develop other members and support the delivery of team objectives. Responsibilities include performing operational support activities to ensure the Central BI solution meets business SLA’s, including occasional out-of-hours activities, and supporting the team lead in developing and managing future strategy decisions.
Key responsibilities
- Contribute to daily support activities, ensuring scheduled processes are running correctly and any issues are raised for investigation and resolution in a timely manner.
- Conduct data analysis tasks, profiling work requests to scale effort and complexity, to feed into the team backlog for future development.
- Design and deliver data extraction processes from new and existing sources, integrating into an established data warehouse.
- Maintain and enhance existing ETL processes, ensuring reliability, accuracy and performance.
- Contribute to the management and continuous improvement of the BI technical environment to ensure expected service levels are met.
- Participate in BI and business meetings and take ownership of relevant action points throughout the escalation process.
Wider BI Business Support
Work directly with various business representatives to identify and document business requirements. Provide technical support and guidance to enable them to achieve their own reporting goals.

Preferred Skills and Experience
- T-SQL Development (MS SQL Server 2019 onwards)
- MS Integration Services (SSIS) including development of full DW ETL Solutions
- MS Analysis Services (SSAS) for complex cube reporting solutions
- MS Reporting Services (SSRS) including development of complex reports
- PowerBI Report Development
- Kimball Dimensional Modelling Methodology
Experience of the following would also be advantageous:
- Fabric Microsoft Azure
- Team Foundation Server
- Azure Dev Ops
- PowerBI Administration and/or support
Experience in the insurance sector (Lloyds Syndicate, Underwriting, Broking) would be advantageous.
Qualifications:
Degree educated in a relevant field or long-standing technical experience.
