The Data Science Analyst is responsible for assisting the development of data processes and models to support operations across various business functions including Pricing, Underwriting and Claims. Key responsibilities
- Utilise analytical, data science and AI approaches to assist with the development of models, and generation of data insight to support various business functions.
- Support end-to-end implementation of analytical processes through development, testing and deployment.
- Help drive improvements in data quality, including identification and resolution of issues.
- Deliver to a high standard, within agreed timescales.
- Continuous development of own capability through on the job learning and other external learning activity.
- Maintain a knowledge of developments in data science within and outside of the insurance industry.
- Understand and comply with legal and regulatory provisions with respect to their project work.
- Embody and amplify the IQUW values in all aspects of day-to-day activity ensuring that all interactions and engagements are carried out with the highest ethical and professional standards and that all work is accomplished with quality and in accordance with IQUW values.
Skills and experience
- Organised with efficient planning and delivery capabilities.
- Experience working with a range of data types, including structured and unstructured data.
- Possess a broad knowledge of data science methodologies/techniques (e.g. feature engineering, modelling, evaluation), with ability to implement best practise solutions according to the demands of a project.
- Has expertise of a narrower range of specialisms (e.g. LLMs or Deep Learning).
- Starts to apply emerging theory to practical situations.
- Understands and able to work to MLOps best practice.
- Ability to organise, analyse and draw appropriate insight from data when answering a specific problem.
- Works with structure and able to produce work in a timely manner.
- Articulate and numerate, paying attention to detail and accuracy.
- Team player who brings out the best in others.
- Effective communicator, able to explain and present technical concepts to others.
- Strong interpersonal skills to build and maintain value adding relationships.
