Title: Business Development Manager, SSON Research & Analytics
Location: London (three days in office)
*This role is hybrid with partial work-from-home and in-office, based in the London office*
The Role
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for gaining a comprehensive understanding of the SSON Research & Analytics Platform, including its data tools, and all the research and insights available to paying subscribers. You will source prospects, follow up on marketing-generated leads, conduct demos, and secure new paying subscribers for the SSON Research & Analytics platform. This role is primarily focused on securing new business.
Who is SSON Research & Analytics (SSON R&A)
SSON Research & Analytics (SSON R&A) is SSON’s global data analytics center, and the industry’s premier resource for all the metrics, benchmarks, and insight that affect Shared Services / Global Business Services operations. SSON Research & Analytics offers Advisory Services, data-driven intelligence via a library of research studies, and self-service platform-based data tools: Metric Benchmarker, City Cube, Intelligent Automation Universe, and the Shared Services Atlas.
Role Responsibilities
The Business Development Manager will be responsible for developing relationships with shared services and global business services professionals, consultants, and solution providers, educating them on the capabilities of the SSON R&A platform, and securing subscriptions. You will build a pipeline and develop a strategy to meet and exceed quarterly sales goals. Specific responsibilities include:
- Generating new revenue for the SSON Research & Analytics platform
- Providing demos to prospective clients, educating them on the platform’s features and value
- Quickly responding to inquiries and initiating your own lead generation within the sector
- Managing the full sales cycle from outreach to closing
- Account managing your clients, assisting them with any questions related to the platform.
- Attending SSON events to promote SSON R&A to attendees
- Collaborating with product development and marketing teams to provide feedback on lead generation campaigns and overall industry interests and insights
- Monitoring and reporting on the sales pipeline and revenue, with a meticulous focus on meeting and exceeding targets, while holding a deep understanding of what it takes to achieve your KPIs
Qualifications
The ideal candidate for this role is energetic, enthusiastic, a quick learner, has a keen interest in data and analytics, and has experience in selling B2B products.
- Bachelor’s Degree required
- 2+ years in B2B Sales experience (subscription-based sales experience a plus)
- Experience managing a pipeline of prospects
- Excellent communication skills and the confidence to converse with decision-makers
- Proven track record of success in selling services/solutions to enterprise executives
- Previous experience in business development, with a hunter mentality
- High level of self-motivation and a strong work ethic
- Must be reliable, and able to work independently or as part of a team
- Proficiency with general office technology skills required (PC, Microsoft Outlook, CRM, LinkedIn)
