About the role

The People and Culture Advisor will work operationally across all People functions, working closely with key stakeholders. The People and Culture Advisor will provide high-quality, efficient HR administrative and advisory support across the full employee lifecycle. The role is predominantly administrative, ensuring HR processes are well-organised, accurate, and compliant, while also offering first-line advice to managers and employees on routine HR matters. This role is ideal for someone with strong attention to detail, excellent organisational skills, and a passion for keeping People operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities

  • Providing support to the People and Culture Director, working closely with Business Partners, the HR Systems and Compensation Specialist and the Payroll Team.
  • Deliver comprehensive HR administrative support across all stages of the employee life cycle including but not limited to:
  • Monitor and report on employee absence (sickness and other).
  • Ensure all changes for payroll are accurate and documented in time for monthly payroll running e.g starters, leavers, salary increases, absence, discretionary payments etc.
  • Generate offer letters, contracts of employment, variations of employment correspondence and any other relevant HR correspondence.
  • Coordinating benefits for new starters and existing employees through our third-party benefits broker.
  • Provide first-line HR advice to managers and employees on HR policies and procedures, basic employee relations queries, absence management cases, flexible working requests, family leave and probation processes.
  • Support complex employee relations cases through documentation, taking notes and tracking actions/outcomes.
  • Managing the central People Inbox and responding as the first point of contact to enquiries about policy, development and benefits; escalating queries where necessary.
  • Liaise with training providers and internal IQE customers to co-ordinate training events, confirming timetables and arrangements.
  • Ensure all HR systems are up to date and compliant with GDPR.
  • Support audits and compliance checks where required.
  • Perform the range of duties associated with the ordering process for goods and services, including setting up new suppliers, raising POs and processing invoices.
  • Contribute to the development and updating of HR templates, guidance documents and procedures.
  • Support the People and Culture team on ad hoc projects as required.

About you

  • Proven experience in a HR Administrative, HR Advisor or HR Support role.
  • Strong administrative skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Good working knowledge of HR best practice and employment life-cycle processes.
  • Experience of using HR Information Systems (iTrent experience desirable) and Microsoft Office (particularly Word and Excel).
  • Hold or working towards CIPD qualification or equivalent.
  • Experience of providing administrative support within a fast-paced environment.
  • Commitment to Continuing Professional Development.
  • High levels of discretion and confidentiality.
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Ability to manage stakeholders and customers in a positive and productive manner.
