Due to an internal promotion, we are looking for an exceptional Senior Legal Counsel to support the business’ legal and compliance objectives. You will provide commercially focused, legal and compliance advice across IQE’s global teams, focusing on customer and supplier agreements, research and joint development agreements, non-disclosure agreements, and supporting the legal team to develop and support the business.
You’ll identify risks and contribute to their mitigation and provide specialist training for our people. You’ll advise a range of individuals including representatives from technology, sales, senior leaders, and external counsel, and support with strategic and complex matters. You will support the legal team with the development and implementation of global regulatory and compliance frameworks in a fast-changing industry.
You will be able to support across a wide remit of legal and compliance activities, including employment, litigation/dispute resolution, and real estate.
You’ll be a Solicitor with around 3 to 6 years’ PQE, possibly already working in-house or in private practice. You will bring post qualification experience in commercial contracts and experience dealing with a variety of legal issues. Commercial awareness and adaptability will be key, as will your ability and hunger to understand IQE’s business and technology.
Your work will be stimulating and challenging. You’ll be energetic, enthusiastic, and use your initiative and expertise to support and drive legal and compliance objectives. You’ll be able to influence and challenge established ways of thinking.
Key Responsibilities
- To negotiate, draft and advise on a variety of commercial contracts, with a particular focus on customer and supplier agreements.
- To support and guide our sales and research & development teams with contract related issues and negotiations.
- To work with and support other members in the legal team.
- To provide compliance support across key compliance areas including anti-bribery and corruption, data protection, whistleblowing and investigations, and other compliance frameworks relating to an international advanced manufacturing company.
- To provide legal support across a wide variety of legal issues, including employment, litigation/dispute resolution, and real estate.
- To work with external advisors where appropriate.
- To provide training and guidance to non-specialists.
- To maintain up to date knowledge of relevant laws and practices.
