Shift pattern: Monday – Friday: 8 hour shifts. Working across our Newport (Duffryn) and Cardiff (St Mellons) Site.

About the role

The Equipment Engineering Technician is required to support the maintenance and upkeep of Semiconductor processing reactors and associated equipment. This role focuses on equipment reliability and efficiency through preventative maintenance and repairs:

  • Maintenance of various electrical, mechanical and pressure systems, carry out corrective maintenance and preventative maintenance as per documented procedures.
  • Return machine to “safe and capable” status.
  • Maintenance, troubleshooting and upkeep of Semiconductor processing reactors and associated equipment.
  • Maximising the up time of all equipment necessary for production.
  • Continual improvement of reliability and performance of systems and equipment.
  • To service and refurbish various machine components to the required standards.
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and ownership by completing scheduled housekeeping tasks within the scope of the site requirements.
  • Comply with all company policies, SOP (Standard Operating Procedures), Work Instructions, and record keeping requirements.
  • Have clear understanding of chemicals and substances in the workplace and follow strict guidance for handling such substances, which could include PPE requirements.
  • Use computerised tools and software to follow process and routine tasks, accurately recording all works carried out for traceability and within the scope of the role.
  • Assists with potentially hazardous maintenance operations, using Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA)/ Breathing Air Hood.
  • Comply with all health and safety, HR, environmental quality and cyber security guidelines and procedures internally and within the scope of business, ISO, and regulatory requirements as it pertains to the job function.

About you

  • HNC + or equivalent in an engineering discipline is desirable.
  • Proven experience of working within mechanical, electrical and pressure system environments.
  • Mechanical / Electrical / Electronic aptitude and experience.
  • Able to prioritize effectively, make decisions and take decisive actions quickly under pressure.
  • A clear commitment to health and safety protocols, and a proactive mentality to ensure the safety of others.
  • Excellent attention to detail.
  • Computer Literacy skills.
  • Technical analytical skills.
