About the role

The Production Technician role is required to support the production of epitaxial materials through monitoring control of the manufacturing process. This role includes following strict procedures, maintaining quality standards, and ensuring production goals are met safely and efficiently. This is a shifted role to cover 24‑hour operation.

Main responsibilities

  • Work mainly in a cleanroom environment, following all required protocols and procedures.
  • Maintain a high level of cleanliness and ownership by completing scheduled housekeeping tasks within the scope of the site requirements.
  • Comply with all health and safety, HR, environmental quality and cybersecurity guidelines and procedures internally and within the scope of business, ISO, and regulatory requirements as it pertains to the job function.
  • Comply with all EHS protocols and requirements.
  • Comply with all company policies, SOP (Standard Operating Procedures), Work Instructions, and record‑keeping requirements.
  • Have clear understanding of chemicals and substances in the workplace and follow strict guidance for handling of such substances, which could include PPE requirements.
  • Foster a collaborative work environment and promote teamwork across departments.
  • The role may require a degree of flexibility in working hours, which will be discussed and agreed to support both individual and organisational needs.
  • Adhere to the competency management process, completing assigned tasks, training and approvals in a timely manner.
  • Learn and develop an understanding of basic vacuum systems and epitaxial deposition, all process‑related checks on epitaxial systems, execution of production runs, calibrations and other activities as required by the daily production schedule to meet targets and objectives.
  • Use of chemicals and substances in the workplace related to the production requirements, following strict guidance for safe handling and the use of appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  • Monitor the epitaxial growth process through the review of statistical process control (SPC), system monitoring, material inspection, and all in‑line metrology (ILM) measurements.
  • Follow the production process and associated Out of Control Action Plans (OCAPs).
  • Develop an understanding of manufacturing specifications.
  • Active involvement with the safety team and/or Emergency Response Team (ERT), providing feedback to the safety team on areas of improvement within the work environment.
  • Provide support to Process Engineers via data collection per written instructions or as directed by the Production Supervisor.
  • Perform other functions and duties as required.

  • Experience working in semiconductor, manufacturing, or an engineering environment is desirable.
  • Experience working in a technical role.

Qualification Requirements

  • Level 4 Qualification or 2‑Year/Associate’s degree in a technical field.
