This role is an excellent opportunity to build a future-proof career in the fast-growing energy and infrastructure sector. Starting this September, we will fully support and sponsor your Degree Qualification. You will attend Glasgow Caledonian University on a part-time basis (1 day per week during term) to achieve your BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying degree. The Role and what you will be doing:

  • Subcontract Management: Learn to assemble subcontract enquiry packages, issue tender documentation, and assist with processing monthly subcontractor payments.
  • Cost Control & Measurement: Work alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors to track material/plant costs, record site progress, and measure project variations under standard NEC forms of contract.
  • Site Operations: Participate in site visits to conduct physical measurements, shadow progress reviews, and support client payment applications.
  • Commercial Reporting: Assist in updating Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) spreadsheets, maintaining accurate cost databases, and filing contractual correspondence.
  • EPC Project Lifecycle: Collaborate across procurement, estimating, and site delivery teams to build a complete end-to-end understanding of Engineering, Procurement, and Construction (EPC) projects.
  • Tendering & Risk Support: Assist with pre-contract costings, prepare documentation and Bills of Quantities for major tenders, and help formulate commercial risk responses during early-stage contract reviews.
  • Compliance: Ensure all activities strictly adhere to internal procedures, commercial guidelines, and health and safety protocols.

About You

  • Academic Aptitude: Satisfy entry requirements for Glasgow Caledonian University's BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying program starting in September.

  • Full UK Driving Licence (Desirable)
