We're looking for a commercially focused Quantity Surveyor to join our expanding Special Projects team in Glasgow.

The Role As a Quantity Surveyor, you'll support the commercial management of major energy infrastructure projects, helping to protect project margins, manage contractual requirements and drive commercial performance.

Working closely with the Division Commercial Manager and wider project teams, you'll gain exposure to both post-contract and pre-contract activities, providing an excellent foundation for long-term career development.

Key Responsibilities Manage subcontract packages, including procurement support, valuations, payments and performance monitoring.

Identify, manage and assess variations and NEC Compensation Events.

Prepare and maintain cost reporting, CVRs, forecasts and commercial performance data.

Support cost control, value management and risk management activities across projects.

Assist with contractual claims, commercial negotiations and contract administration.

Provide commercial support for tenders, cost estimates and contract reviews.

Build strong relationships with clients, subcontractors and internal stakeholders.

Ensure compliance with contractual obligations, company procedures and governance requirements.

Support continuous improvement initiatives and promote commercial best practice.

About You Essential Requirements Degree or HND in Quantity Surveying or a related discipline.

Experience working with NEC3 and/or NEC4 contracts.

Understanding of commercial management within construction, utilities, infrastructure or engineering projects.

Strong numerical, analytical and commercial skills.

Excellent communication and stakeholder management abilities.

Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and commercial reporting systems.

Full UK Driving Licence.

Desirable Experience Experience within power, utilities, substations, BESS, energy or infrastructure projects.

Familiarity with cost management and construction accounting software.

Experience supporting both pre-contract and post-contract commercial activities. xohmjla
