Powering the UK's Infrastructure
If you are ACCOMP qualified please get in touch, we are looking for an experienced Jointers Mate to join our established team.
Location: The head office base in Hillington. There will be a requirement to travel to various site locations.
Salary: £33,150 + further benefits
Contract: Full time, Permanent.
Hours: 37.5 Hours (8am - 4pm)

About the role and what you will be doing:
The role of cable jointer's mate will provide essential support to a qualified cable jointer, primarily responsible for supporting them in tasks like cable preparation, excavation, and general site maintenance while the jointer focuses on the technical aspects of connecting and sealing underground electrical cables on power lines.
Cable Jointers Mate (LV) Responsibilities:
- Assistance with Jointing and Termination connections
- Assistance with Connections to substations
- Cable laying
- Assistance in fault finding
- Understanding utility plans
- Preparation and correct use of tools and machinery
- Assistance adhering to IQA, Client and DNO Safety Rules
- Follow IQA SHEQ processes and procedures
- Ensure safety from the system for IQA personnel, members of the public and other companies
- Assistance highlighting any issues which may affect compliance with the client/IQA SHEQ requirements or legislation
- Supporting the completion of risk assessment and maintaining safe working practice and accurate records
- Reporting of Hazards and near misses
- Working within authorisation levels
In order to be successful in this role, you must have:
- Current driving licence
- Site Safety Certificate
- ACCOMP - Essential
- Emergency First Aid at Work
- Excellent problem-solving skill and attention to detail
