Here's a bit about the role . . . Our Specialist Maintenance Technicians (SMT) at iQ make sure the students who stay with us always feel at home, this means carrying out minor repairs on our sites and interacting with our students to make a difference to their day to day lives. This role will require you to hold a current NICEIC certification.

What you'll be doing:

  • Carrying out minor repairs across our sites
  • Carrying out electrical like for like replacements (sockets, light fittings, panel heaters, hobs, light switches etc)
  • Tackling reactive maintenance such as plumbing, joinery or painting and decorating
  • Completing compliance checks and keeping up to date with policies and procedures
  • Interacting with students and helping make their day a little better

Working hours:

Our residents come first, so we work around their needs. Your shift pattern will be confirmed at least six weeks in advance and may vary across a six‐week cycle. You'll work within our operating hours of 8am–8pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work agreed in advance for busy periods or open days.
