Our Maintenance Technicians at iQ make sure the students who stay with us always feel at home. This means carrying out minor repairs on our sites and interacting with our students to make a difference to their day-to-day lives. This role is a trainee position, appointed as a Maintenance Technician initially with clear scope and support to progress into a specialist position. Applicants must have experience carrying out minor electrical repairs and be keen to build on this experience to achieve an NICEIC qualification.
As a Maintenance Technician, you’ll make sure our students always feel at home. No two days are the same - you might be:
- Carrying out minor repairs across our sites
- Tackling reactive maintenance such as plumbing, joinery or painting and decorating
- Completing compliance checks and keeping up to date with policies and procedures
- Interacting with students and helping make their day a little better
And through it all, you’ll be part of the iQ family - a team that always has your back.

You won't mind rolling your sleeves up, you will have a drive to get the job done to a high standard and great communication skills. You'll have some experience either in maintenance or as a general builder/labourer.
Working hours: Our residents come first, so we work around their needs. Your shift pattern will be confirmed at least six weeks in advance and may vary across a six-week cycle. You’ll work within our operating hours of 8am–8pm, Monday to Friday, with occasional weekend work agreed in advance for busy periods or open days.
What you'll get: In exchange, you'll receive great benefits and upskilling opportunities, and you get to work as part of a fun, supportive team in a business that's definitely going places.
