With over 2 million visitors annually and a reputation for world-class events, the SEC is home to some of the biggest and most memorable live entertainment experiences in the UK.

We are looking for a passionate and dedicated Assistant Manager, Technical Production to join our team.

If you thrive in a fast-paced live events environment, bring strong technical knowledge and a passion for exceptional delivery, we’d love to hear from you.

Role Summary:

As Assistant Manager, Technical Production, you’ll play a vital role in delivering the technical and production elements of our live entertainment programme. Working within the Technical & Production Team, you’ll help plan and coordinate technical resources, supervise setups and de-rigs, and support ongoing maintenance of equipment and infrastructure.

This hands-on role combines operational oversight with administrative support – contributing to work schedules, managing stock and consumables, raising purchase orders, and maintaining clear communication across internal and external teams. You’ll help ensure every event runs smoothly, safely, and to the highest professional standard.

This position involves flexible working hours, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays, in line with event requirements. Nightshift/overnight work may be required.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the planning and delivery of live entertainment events from a technical and production perspective.
  • Supervise load-ins, setups, and de-rigs to ensure technical standards and safety procedures are upheld.
  • Schedule work programmes for technical staff and contractors, ensuring appropriate resources are in place.
  • Monitor and maintain technical stock levels, including consumables, seating parts, tools and equipment.
  • Assist with the populating of rotas and schedules for Technical Managers and Operatives.
  • Help deliver the planned maintenance schedule, coordinating and tracking repair work and asset care.
  • Ensure risk assessments and safe systems of work are in place and followed across all technical activities.
  • Maintain tidy and organised storage areas across the whole SEC campus.
  • Raise purchase orders and track spend in line with departmental processes.
  • Collaborate across departments to ensure seamless communication and exceptional event delivery.

Our Ideal Candidate:

  • Experience in live event technical operations or venue production management.
  • A solid understanding of event production requirements, including rigging, staging and AV.
  • Confident in supervising crews and communicating with clients and contractors.
  • Well-organised, with experience using planning systems and coordinating resources.
  • Knowledge of health and safety protocols relevant to live events and technical environments.
  • Positive, adaptable and solution-oriented – with a passion for delivering outstanding experiences.

Join us and become part of a passionate team behind some of the UK’s biggest and most exciting live entertainment events.
