As a Client Accountant, you'll serve as the primary day‑to‑day contact for private equity, real estate, credit, or debt fund clients, ensuring accurate fund administration, strong client relationships, and the timely delivery of financial reporting and investor services.

What You'll Do

  • You'll manage designated fund clients, acting as their key front‑office contact while building strong relationships and maintaining effective communication with CFOs, financial controllers, investors, and internal stakeholders.
  • You'll review quarterly and annual financial statements, reports, investor drawdown calculations, and distribution calculations to ensure accuracy, compliance with reporting standards (such as UK GAAP or IFRS), and proper allocation of investor funds.
  • You'll oversee fund cash movements and investor communications, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded and relevant investor notices are issued in a timely manner.
  • You'll coordinate and monitor client deliverables, agree timelines with clients, prioritize workloads effectively, proactively resolve issues, and ensure all deadlines and reporting requirements are met.
  • You'll demonstrate strong ownership, attention to detail, organizational skills, stakeholder management, decision‑making, teamwork, resilience, and process improvement capabilities while mentoring colleagues and contributing to operational efficiencies and risk reduction.

Qualifications

  • You have a higher‑level education, IATI qualification, or equivalent, and are ACCA, ACA, or CIMA qualified (or Qualified by Experience/equivalent).
  • You bring 3+ years of experience in a professional office environment, ideally within financial services or an accounting practice, managing multiple client relationships.
  • You have experience reviewing working paper files and financial statements, including disclosures, or can demonstrate a strong accounting background supported by relevant professional experience and continuing professional development (CPD).
  • You have proven client relationship management skills, with the ability to resolve issues directly with clients and maintain effective stakeholder communication.
  • You are proficient in intermediate Excel, have experience mentoring and supporting junior team members, and demonstrate strong collaboration, organization, and problem‑solving skills.
