You will need to demonstrate a can-do attitude, work to tight deadlines, and be a strong communicator. The workload is varied throughout the year and some flexibility in working patterns is expected.

The Grade II Listed Regent Theatre is the largest theatre in East Anglia with seating for 1551 people. It presents an engaging programme of concerts, gigs, West End musicals, comedy, and an annual traditional family pantomime. The historic Corn Exchange is part of Ipswich's impressive Town Hall and, when used as a theatre, has adaptable seating for 800. The venue presents a very wide variety of events, with everything from concerts and conferences to wrestling and darts.

We pride ourselves on delivering a great customer experience, whether front of house or backstage, and we get to work with some of the UK's biggest promoters and producers. This role is at the forefront of everything we do and you will be the first point of contact to producers, promoters and agents, leading on their visit to our venues.

Key Responsibilities

You’ll need a good level of technical knowledge – our venues can be challenging, but we have built up an industry reputation on making the impossible happen so you will need to demonstrate some technical ability across sound, lighting, rigging and staging. Everything starts with the technical rider, specification and CAD drawings so you’ll need to decipher these and make them relevant to our venue.

Forward planning is key to this role and being able to think outside the box. Managing time will help with this, so if you are methodical and organised in your work life, this could be the next position for you. The team includes technicians and casuals supported by agency crew, so good leadership, verbal and written skills is paramount to bringing everyone together with a good level of IT knowledge.

Everything we do is underpinned by a strong Health & Safety ethos, so you will need a comprehensive understanding of this to ensure we operate in a safe environment.

Requirements

Someone creative and proactive, with a great work ethic and the ability to deliver results in a fast-moving arts environment. A-level standard or equivalent experience in a technical related profession.

Working Hours & Schedule

Hours of work are 35 per week, including evening and weekend. The post holder will be required to work a rota, including evenings, weekends and Bank Holidays.
