Position Maintenance & Contracts are looking for an enthusiastic skilled plasterer. Experience of external render repairs would also be beneficial but not essential.
Hours and Location
Hours of work are 8am – 4.30pm Mon – Thur with 1 hour for lunch then 8am – 3.30pm on Friday with a 30‑minute lunch break. You will be based from our main depot Layard House, New Way, Ipswich IP2 0BX, and you could be working on IBC housing stock within any of the 4 Ipswich Town postcodes, IP1, IP2, IP3 or IP4. Work will be allocated on a mobile tablet. The role is 37 hours per week, with flexi‑time available but you will be required to cover the operative working day of 8 – 4.30pm and may occasionally be required to cover a duty rota until 5pm.
Responsibilities
You will be expected to complete the jobs within the allotted timeframe, accept and complete jobs as well as allocate materials for that job on your handheld. You will record detailed follow‑on job notes, which will be typed into your handheld as the job is completed. You will drive an Ipswich Borough Council fleet vehicle which will be electric and stocked with imprest stock that will be replenished as materials are allocated. Your vehicle will remain at our depot overnight on charge.
Qualifications and Skills
Enthusiastic person and a team player willing to assist colleagues from different trades if required as a buddy. Must be qualified to City & Guilds standard or relevant craft qualification. Punctual and reliable with the ability to remain calm and professional in difficult situations, good communicator both verbally and in writing, good listener, empathetic, patient. Ability to work under pressure, adhere to Health and safety procedures, and work both independently and as part of a team.
