About the role:
We have a fantastic opportunity to join our team in the Manchester area as a Cable Jointer Mate. You will be supporting the Jointer (craftsman) with electrical installations/jointing for the business. Assist in coordination of electrical works to ensure full compliance with DNO & Ipsum Powers Policies and Procedures.
As a Cable Jointers Mate you will:
- Support the cable jointer and the wider team in works delivery
- Support the work on sites and the public highway
- Have a good understanding of utility plans
- Assist with the cable jointing
- Provide assistance with connections to substations
- Prepare and correctly use tools and machinery
- Carry out works in line with established safety procedures
- Support the completion of risk assessments and maintain safe working practice and accurate records
About you:
- Hold a valid EUSR or CSCS Card
- DNO Operational Authorisation (SPEN & SPENW, preferred)
- A good understanding of sustainability and health and safety
- Be conversant with testing procedures
- Full Driving Licence is essential as you will be required to travel and work in different locations
- Be flexible to carry out stand-by duties and attend short notice work in the event of severe weather
- Knowledge of relevant DNO Policies and Procedures
- Hold a valid First Aid qualification
