About the role:

We have a fantastic opportunity to join our team in the Manchester area as a Cable Jointer Mate. You will be supporting the Jointer (craftsman) with electrical installations/jointing for the business. Assist in coordination of electrical works to ensure full compliance with DNO & Ipsum Powers Policies and Procedures.

As a Cable Jointers Mate you will:

  • Support the cable jointer and the wider team in works delivery
  • Support the work on sites and the public highway
  • Have a good understanding of utility plans
  • Assist with the cable jointing
  • Provide assistance with connections to substations
  • Prepare and correctly use tools and machinery
  • Carry out works in line with established safety procedures
  • Support the completion of risk assessments and maintain safe working practice and accurate records

About you:

  • Hold a valid EUSR or CSCS Card
  • DNO Operational Authorisation (SPEN & SPENW, preferred)
  • A good understanding of sustainability and health and safety
  • Be conversant with testing procedures
  • Full Driving Licence is essential as you will be required to travel and work in different locations
  • Be flexible to carry out stand-by duties and attend short notice work in the event of severe weather
  • Knowledge of relevant DNO Policies and Procedures
  • Hold a valid First Aid qualification
