Talent Acquisition Partner – IPSUM (Power Division)

Your New Job

The role will see you working on numerous client sites maintaining Transformers, switch gear and working on projects across the UK.

Principal Accountabilities:

  • Working on HV, LV, Transformers, Switchgear and Associated Equipment.
  • Carrying out service / remedial works on Equipment.
  • Able to write up detailed quality reports, daily site reports and such.
  • Carry out electrical testing and fault finding.
  • Carry out mechanical modifications and repairs.
  • Carry out routine PPM (planned preventive maintenance) to a manufacturer’s standard.
  • Be proactive in reporting faults to equipment, Ability to test LV protection and type up accurate reports of results.
  • Install HV/LV panels and transformers to manufacturers standard.

Senior Authorized Person Accountabilities:

  • To comply with the companies HV safety rules & procedures at all times.
  • Undertake the necessary SAP approved training together with any refreshers.
  • Be appointed by Authorizing Engineer and assessed as competent to act as SAP.
  • Produce accurate switching programmes.
  • Issue of safety related documents to persons qualified to receive them.
  • Maintain a log of SAP activity for audit purposes.
  • Carry out functional/ Operating switching of HV distribution systems with your appointment criteria.
  • Carry out maintenance & testing of HV switchgear within your appointment criteria.
  • Participate in company out of hours on call system as required.

Desirable Qualifications [& Professional Membership(s)]:

  • BTEC in Electrical Engineering or C&G equivalent.
  • A thorough Understanding of Electrical Power System up to 33KV.
  • Good Transformer knowledge and understanding.

Skills &Personal Qualities:

  • Have operational experience as a HV Electrical Fitter.
  • Ability to work proactively on your own or in a team.
  • Be able to prioritize workload.
  • Ensure work is to a high standard when working on client sites.
  • Work well as part of a team.
  • Must be eligible for SC /CTC clearance and DBS Check.
  • Full UK Driving License.
