Working alongside experienced Quantity Surveyors and operational teams, you'll gain exposure to the full project lifecycle, supporting activities including pricing, contract administration, cost reporting, change management and cashflow control. You'll play an important role in helping projects achieve strong commercial performance while building your own professional skills and experience.

As an Assistant Quantity Surveyor you will

  • Support the commercial management of assigned projects and workstreams, ensuring accurate records and financial reporting.
  • Assist with the preparation of tender submissions, pricing schedules and commercial proposals.
  • Support Cost Value Reconciliation (CVR) reviews and help maintain accurate project forecasting and cost reporting.
  • Assist in the administration of change control processes, including variations, compensation events and contractual notifications.
  • Prepare applications for payment, track outstanding payments and support the management of WIP and cashflow.
  • Assist with subcontractor procurement, payment assessments, valuations and final account administration.
  • Support contract administration activities, ensuring contractual obligations, key dates and project documentation are effectively maintained.

About You

You'll have some experience within a commercial, quantity surveying, estimating, finance or project environment, either through previous employment, a placement year, apprenticeship or graduate programme. You may already be working as an Assistant Quantity Surveyor or be looking to start your career in a commercial role within the infrastructure sector.

We're looking for someone with strong numerical, analytical and organisational skills who enjoys working with data and solving problems. You'll be eager to learn, willing to take ownership of your work and confident building relationships with colleagues, customers and subcontractors.

A degree, HNC, HND or equivalent qualification in Quantity Surveying, Commercial Management or a related discipline would be advantageous, although we're equally interested in individuals who can demonstrate the right attitude, potential and commitment to developing a career within commercial management.
