A fantastic opportunity for a Senior Tendering Engineer to join our team in Wakefield. You will be responsible for tendering projects for the Ipsum Power Major Projects division. Typical projects include DNO contestable works 11-33kV, renewable energy balance of plant works DC/LV up to 33kV, and access to 66kV-132kV projects. Hybrid working: up to 2 days per week from home and time in the Wakefield office. This is a full-time permanent role.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with the standards, policies, and procedures of Ipsum Power Ltd and its customers.
- Tendering multiple and/or major projects from a tendering perspective safely, competently, and effectively to time and budget.
- Ensure project meets all current legislation (HASAWA, NRSWA, COSHH, etc.).
- Total control for costing schemes and quotations as required.
- Identify and inform Ipsum Power Private Ltd Directors / Senior Managers of commercial opportunities as appropriate.
- Produce front-end programme for certain tenders using Project Management tools.
- Final review of delivered projects to assess financial and delivery performance.
- Liaise with line manager on a daily/weekly basis to manage critical dates.
- Prepare full job packs with your line manager and attend handover meetings as required with PMs.
- Work with the Major Projects teams to ensure safe, effective, and efficient implementation of Ipsum Power Private operations.
- Contribute to the wider team: advise, share knowledge and experience based on expertise.
Qualifications
- Degree, HNC, or HND in an Electrical Related Subject.
- Able to produce Microsoft Project programmes and experience in CAD to produce site layouts.
- Detailed understanding of current HV electrical jointing techniques.
- Solid and up-to-date knowledge of statutory requirements, legislation and technical advances.
- Good knowledge of Health and Safety practice and Risk Assessment processes.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, customer-facing environment and within a commercial, multi-divisional organisation at pace.
