Salary: £20 per hour plus overtime opportunities

Working Hours: Monday to Friday, 45 hours per week

About the role:

Based from Bristol you will be part of a skilled team of operatives undertaking all civil engineering tasks primarily associated with Openreach frame and cover contract and drainage works but including all works required of our client contracts.

As a Civils Operative you will:

  • Ensure compliance with respect to Health and Safety, Quality and Environment
  • Ensure Company policies are always adhered to
  • Ensure all site related incidents are reported
  • Identify and react swiftly to resolve problems before they escalate
  • Responsible for civil engineering tasks completed on site
  • Responsible for producing high quality results, reports, and feedback
  • Always establish good relationships and communication and resolve issues and early resolution of any potential problems

You need to be flexible too: we operate 24/7 so there will be early starts, weekend working and out-of-hours working across the UK.

About you:

Experienced in a range of civil engineering tasks, including manual and mechanical excavations, reinstatement works, plant and machinery operation, manual handling, manhole entry and exit, and shoring. Holds a full driving licence.

  • Machine ticket (excavator above/below 10t) – desirable
  • Openreach MA003 – Online Course
  • Openreach SA006 – Safe Working In Civils
  • Openreach Q24 – Frame & Cover Renewal in Carriageway
  • Openreach Q25 – Frame & Cover Renewal in Footway
