About the role
As Bid Manager, you’ll play a vital role in driving growth across Ipsum by developing and delivering high-quality bids and tenders with both new and existing clients. Reporting to the Head of Strategic Bids and working closely with the Business Development Director and senior stakeholders, you’ll help shape and execute business development strategies that support year-on-year sales growth.
You’ll lead on end-to-end bid activity, manage key customer account plans, and help refine internal processes to support continuous improvement across our tendering and business development functions. This is a full time, permanent role based from our office in Wakefield.
As a Bid Manager you will…
- Develop and execute the business growth strategy in collaboration with key stakeholders.
- Conduct market research to identify trends, new opportunities, and maintain a strong CRM & opportunity pipeline.
- Build new relationships and generate opportunities with prospective customers.
- Lead and support end-to-end pre-qualification and tendering events.
- Oversee the quality, governance, and consistency of tender content and submissions.
- Develop and manage a central library of tendering content and supporting information.
- Champion continuous improvement across all tendering processes and systems.
About you
You will have proven experience in business development and bid management within a fast paced business. Someone who is comfortable with working both strategically and tactically and is highly organised. If you have excellent communication and presentation skills and a strong understanding of tendering processes and procurement portals then this is the role for you! It would be beneficial if you have Utilities sector experience but it is not mandatory.
