Make Your Mark at Ipsos. Ipsos CrossMedia is a part of an Audience Measurement team working on providing accurate measurement of Media consumption and advertising. At the heart of this collection is a unique App based data collection panel which is constantly expanding and improving.
As a Junior Mobile Developer, you will collaborate with a diverse team of developers and panel management experts to implement new features and maintain the MediaCell app. This is a fantastic opportunity to grow your skills on a mobile application with a broad scope, from UI development to lower-level data processing. We encourage you to explore new technologies to keep our app up-to-date and to work with the team to find innovative ways to implement new features based on product requirements. This role is a great starting point to build a strong foundation in mobile development while being supported by experienced professionals. We are seeking someone with 12/18 months commercial experience. You will need to have solid experience in Java, Kotlin or Swift and experience of developing mobile applications on Android and iOS platforms. Note – this role is based in our Cambridge offices.
Responsibilities
- Contribute to the development of mobile applications for Android and iOS platforms.
- Explore new solutions to upcoming product goals.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to develop, test and deliver mobile apps that meet client requirements.
- Collaborate with the team in regular code and design reviews, sharing your insights and learning from experienced developers to maintain high-quality standards.
- Test and debug mobile applications to ensure they meet performance, security, and user experience standards.
- Continuously research and learn new mobile technologies and techniques to stay up-to-date with industry trends.
- Participate in brainstorming sessions to come up with innovative ideas and solutions.
About You
The successful candidate will bring:
Essential Skills
- A good technical degree or equivalent.
- Proficiency in at least one relevant programming language (ideally Java, Kotlin or Swift).
- Experience in developing mobile applications (iOS or Android).
- Experience with version control systems (e.g. Git or SVN).
- An ability to produce clear, informative supporting documentation.
- Foundational understanding of mobile development.
- Solid experience working with integrating third-party libraries and APIs.
Desirable Skills
- Experience of user interface and experience design.
- Familiarity with app store submission and approval processes.
- Knowledge of CI/CD workflows and writing automated tests.
- Knowledge of issue/project tracking software, e.g. Jira.
- Knowledge of cloud-based service (AWS, Google Cloud).
