As an EC&I Specialist within our Maintenance & Reliability team, you'll provide expertise in calibration, automation, and fault diagnosis while supporting exciting site expansion projects and new technology implementation. This is an excellent opportunity to work with state-of-the-art equipment while contributing to plant reliability, continuous improvement, and the safe, efficient operation of a growing manufacturing site. This is a 4 on/off shift pattern, 2 days and 2 nights.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own and deliver the site calibration programme, ensuring instrumentation remains accurate, compliant, and audit-ready.
  • Act as the EC&I technical expert on shift, supporting complex electrical, instrumentation, automation, and control system issues.
  • Diagnose and resolve faults using PLC, SCADA, and process control systems to minimise downtime and maximise equipment availability.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and optimise electrical and control systems to support reliable plant performance.
  • Support the commissioning, qualification, and handover of new equipment and capital projects.
  • Collaborate with engineering and operations teams to drive continuous improvement and share technical expertise across the maintenance function.

Knowledge, skills & experience:

  • Time-served apprenticeship in Electrical, Control, or Instrumentation Engineering.
  • Experience working as an EC&I Technician within a regulated manufacturing environment such as pharmaceutical, life sciences, or FMCG.
  • Strong PLC fault-finding and control system diagnostic skills.
  • Experience with instrumentation, calibration, and maintenance best practices.
  • A proactive problem solver with a strong commitment to safety, quality, and continuous improvement.
