We are looking for a Head of Safety Partnering to define and lead our global pharmacovigilance partnering strategy across a diverse commercial portfolio. This is a pivotal leadership role at the heart of how we collaborate, ensuring that strong partnerships translate into safe, compliant and impactful outcomes for patients worldwide.

The Head of Safety Partnering builds and maintains strong collaboration with all PV partnering stakeholders to ensure a smooth partnering strategy from due diligence steps and partnership set up to partnership termination. You will enable compliant and value-driven partnerships, supporting business development, lifecycle management, and partnership governance, while ensuring full compliance with applicable pharmacovigilance regulations and Ipsen processes.

As a key member of the GPS Strategy & Transformation team, the Head of Safety Partnering will contribute to the definition and roll out of the GPS Strategy & Transformation team objectives.

What you will do

You will lead the design and execution of Ipsen’s PV partnering strategy across global and local partners, embedding clear governance, strong oversight and consistent standards.

Main Responsibilities:
  • Defining, leading, and deploying Ipsen’s global Pharmacovigilance (PV) partnering strategy for commercial partners across the portfolio.
  • Lead the PV Partnering strategy, building collaboration internally with all relevant stakeholders & externally with the commercial partner, while ensuring appropriate Pharmacovigilance Agreements (PVAs) are in place with commercial partners, in full compliance with all relevant pharmacovigilance legislation and applicable processes.
  • Drive the oversight of commercial partners, as part of PV partnering governance structure.
  • Define and lead the safety partnering strategy for commercial partnerships applicable to global and local commercial partners that safeguard Ipsen product strategy.
  • Lead internal alignment and communication of PV partnering strategy, ensuring the knowledge and understanding of the safety partnering strategy of key stakeholders.
  • Oversee and be accountable for PV Agreements (PVA) and Partnering with Ipsen commercial partners at Global level.
  • Lead or support setup and maintenance of PV Agreements (PVA/SDEA) aligned with Ipsen product and safety partnering strategies.
  • Drive the PVA implementation step with all relevant stakeholders for subject matter experts to execute properly the PVA signed.
  • Lead PV discussions internally and negotiations with partners. Ensure clear and efficient communication across stakeholders.
  • Lead termination negotiation with partners and with internal stakeholders to terminate PV activities in accordance with Ipsen processes, Ipsen Strategy and regulatory requirements.
  • Oversee and drive PV regulatory intelligence related to partnerships and develop a global safety partnership regulatory intelligence strategy.
  • Ensure alignment of internal processes with global PV regulations and internal standards.
  • Ensure that all changes in legislation which could impact the effectiveness of PVAs are proactively incorporated into PVA templates and implemented for the PVAs impacted.
  • Lead and develop the Safety Partnering team.
  • Ensure appropriate resourcing, capability building, and performance management.
  • Foster a collaborative and high-performance team culture.

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor’s degree in life sciences, pharmacy, or a related field, or in business administration.
  • Strong expertise in change management to support strategic vision.
  • Extensive team management.
  • Strong leadership and experience of negotiating effectively to deliver shared goals.
  • Significant experience in pharmacovigilance within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Proven expertise in PV agreements.
  • Extensive experience in global partnering environments.
  • Strong leadership, stakeholder engagement and negotiation experience.
  • Solid understanding of global PV regulations and inspection readiness.
  • A collaborative mindset with the ability to drive change and alignment across functions.
  • Robust working knowledge of pre- and post-marketing PV legislation.
  • Robust experience with regulatory authority inspections and internal audits, either in industry, consulting, or health authority.
  • Fluency in English.
