About the Role: The Clinical Contract Manager ensures that clinical research activities are conducted in full compliance with applicable legal, regulatory, contractual, and data privacy requirements, and oversees the Clinical Contract Associate (CCA) team activities. Positioned within Global Medical Clinical Operations / Clinical Excellence, you provide expert support and oversight on contracts managed by the department (clinical studies, managed access programs, contractors) and data protection matters, enabling compliant and efficient study execution while safeguarding patient data and Ipsen’s legal obligations.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Clinical Contracts Compliance: Provide expert oversight and guidance on agreements, ensuring contractual content is fully compliant with applicable legal, regulatory, and data protection requirements.
  • Data Privacy & GDPR Compliance: Act as the clinical data privacy champion for Global Medical Clinical Operations. Ensure compliance with GDPR and/or any applicable data protection laws for clinical studies, registries and Managed Access Programs. Review and support privacy-related documentation.
  • Advisory, Training & Operational Support: Act as a trusted advisor to Clinical Operations teams on clinical contracts and data privacy topics. Provide pragmatic, solution-oriented guidance to facilitate study start-up and execution while maintaining legal compliance.
  • Clinical Contract Associate (CCA) Team oversight: Co-lead with the head of function, the recruitment process for the CCA team (workforce planning, job descriptions, interviews, selection, and onboarding). Define, deploy, and continuously improve the onboarding and training program to ensure consistent understanding of clinical contracting processes, compliance requirements, and internal SOPs.

Qualifications:

  • Master's degree in Law (mandatory)
  • Proven experience in clinical contract negotiation and/or data privacy compliance within the pharmaceutical, biotechnology, or CRO industry
  • Prior experience working within the pharmaceutical industry.
  • Strong working knowledge of GDPR, data protection regulations in clinical research, and clinical contracting frameworks
  • Solid expertise in data protection and data privacy
  • Fluent in English (written and spoken); French is a plus
