SUMMARY OF THE POSITION

The Global Senior Medical Director, Aesthetics will work closely with the Global Medical Head in developing and executing the medical strategy for Ipsen’s Aesthetic portfolio, focusing initially on the successful market preparation and potential global launch of a novel neuro‑inhibitor. The Senior Medical Director is pivotal in shaping the early narrative, establishing scientific leadership, building/executing on an integrated evidence generation plan, growing the aesthetic HCP network, engaging with KOLs, and inputting into the design and execution of training initiatives to ensure safe and effective use of Ipsen aesthetic products. This role requires effective cross‑collaboration with key business partners, ensuring alignment with commercial, R&D, finance, corporate communications, as well as GMA colleagues in other franchises.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Define and execute the Aesthetic franchise strategy to maximize value
  • Lead the creation and communication of integrated evidence generation plan (IEGP)
  • Leading contributor to New Asset TPP/TVP
  • Lead HCP Engagement to foster deep medical insights
  • Add proactive value to the Clinical Development Team and plans
  • Act as core member of the Global Aesthetic Franchise Team and Asset Development Teams
  • Generates ideas for Lifecycle Management based on deep insights
  • Management of global asset medical studies and programs including performance and safety and GCP compliance
  • Work with the SVP, Head of GMA Neuroscience, Aesthetics to develop annual medical affairs strategic and tactical plans
  • Ensure the right allocation of effort, resource and alignment on priorities together with SVP, Head of GMA Neuroscience, Aesthetics
  • Builds the asset budget and 5YP plan and ensures optimal execution
  • Foster Patient Engagement all along the value chain
  • Collaborate cross‑functionally in multiple areas including publication planning, speaker education programs, advisory board meetings, insights and evidence generation, manuscript development and review, development of medical affairs field resources, conference preparation and management.
  • Represent the company to groups of experts including medical professionals, societies, and regulatory at scientific meetings.
  • Regular communication is expected with the external medical community to remain abreast of issues in the field and to provide medical support and direction.
  • Engagement with targeted key opinion leaders, key institutions, prominent academic and clinical investigators, and leaders of the medical community in scientific discussions, consistent with Medical Plan objectives.
  • Attend and lead medical affairs activities at major conferences and make presentations to external audiences.
  • Manage tactical budget from planning to execution

KNOWLEDGE & EXPERIENCE

Knowledge & Experience (essential)

  • A minimum of 10 years of Medical Affairs experience within the Pharmaceutical/ Biotech Industry with local/affiliate/global experience
  • Experience of Injectable Aesthetics, Dermatology, Plastic Surgery or Devices
  • Experience in Phase IV studies
  • Demonstrated experience in leading the development and execution of medical/scientific strategies and plans
  • Demonstrated experience leading and managing cross‑functional projects with significant business impact
  • Communication and presentation skills; highly effective at summarizing and presenting key considerations and decision‑points
  • Good interpersonal and influencing skills; can effectively and quickly establish rapport with all key internal/external partners and stakeholders and influence without authority
  • Functions with excellent judgment, high integrity and in compliance with all laws, regulations and policies.

Knowledge & Experience (preferred)

  • Demonstrated experience in leading and managing high performing teams

Education / Certifications (essential)

  • Advanced Clinical/Science degree (e.g. Ph.D., MD, PharmD) in the life sciences or other relevant scientific or clinical discipline
