Job Description: Join Ipsen Wrexham at an exciting time, where you’ll contribute to the manufacture of novel and innovative oncology therapies. This is a unique opportunity to advance cutting-edge treatments, working at the forefront of science to deliver life-changing medicines for patients worldwide. As a Lead Analytical Scientist, you will play a key role in supporting the introduction and manufacture of a high-profile drug within our portfolio. This is a contract role until end of Dec 2027 to assist with our manufacturing project. Working at the interface of development and manufacturing, you will ensure analytical methods are robust, scalable, and ready for commercial production. This is a unique opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge science while helping deliver medicines that make a meaningful difference to patients’ lives.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the development, transfer, validation and optimisation of microbial and analytical methods for a complex biological product
- Support the successful implementation of products into manufacturing at the Wrexham site
- Investigate and resolve method and quality issues during development and production
- Act as a subject matter expert, providing technical guidance to cross-functional teams
- Ensure all analytical and microbial activities meet GMP and regulatory requirements
- Drive continuous improvement and innovation within analytical sciences
Knowledge, skills and experience:
- Experience in a similar position, must have experience with method transfer validation within and ideally across sites
- Strong knowledge of analytical techniques and ideally microbiology techniques e.g. Bioburden, CE-SDS (capillary electrophoresis) and cIEF (capillary isoelectric focusing).
- Desire to be hands on, ensuring we have the appropriate testing capabilities, and the relevant teams are trained through the method transfer/development activities.
